One might think, "Can you just spray my taillights?" We could, but we won't. This is because anyone can witness what spray tint looks like after one Michigan winter: faded, chipped at the edges, and impossible to fix cleanly. You'd have to sand or replace the lens.
Vinyl film is different, because it is a precision-cut sheet that conforms to your lens, goes on smooth, and stays uniform in color. Best of all, it comes off clean if you ever need to remove it, which helps if you're leasing your car or planning to sell.
There's a protection angle too, though nowhere near what taillight PPF is capable of. Standard vinyl tint adds a light buffer against rock chips, salt and sand from Michigan roads between November and March. And the constant gravel that kicks up along Garfield Road and 15 Mile would simply sit on top of spray tint, offering almost no impact absorption compared to vinyl film.
At Vinyl Mafia, we use vinyl film exclusively. The downside is that it costs more and takes a steady hand to wrap compound curves without creases, but that's the work we built this shop around. With six years of experience and a 5-star rating on Google, our customers expect results that last.
Not sure on shade? We'll show you each level on a real lens first.
